Have your dog accredited as an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen!

CGC training is fun and useful. Therapy dog groups, such as Therapy Dogs International, hospitals, and nursing homes require the CGC as a prerequisite for therapy work. Earning the CGC award will ensure that your dog is a well-respected member of your community.

What is Clicker Training?

A clicker is a tool that is used to tell an animal that they have performed a behavior correctly. Marine mammal trainers use a dog whistle for this, and a clicker works in the same way. Clickers have been used with dogs, cats, birds and exotic species such as tigers, lions, hoofstock, and primates. A clicker or a whistle means YES, that's exactly what I wanted you to do! Now you get your reward!

The clicker should never be used to get the animal's attention, to look at you, or to come to you. It is a marker to let the animal know that they have done something correctly.

The clicker is a very distinct sound and is easy to hear, which makes it a great tool to use when training. It is clear, precise, and free of emotion. But remember, timing is everything when training!

Please feel free to contact me for information about how I can help you clicker train your animal.

Potty Training Solutions!

This is probably the number one complaint that people have about a new puppy. But don't think that potty training is just for the dogs. Animals such as rabbits, ferrets and pigs have been trained to use litter boxes. Even cats, who will naturally use litter, can be trained to use the toilet instead! Imagine never having to scoop out a stinky litter box again!

Potty training, or also known as house breaking, can be a slow process for some. It requires a great deal of patience on the part of the owner.

House training is possible! Do not be discouraged. It is just like potty training a child, you have to focus on the positive and set the animal up to succeed.

I have helped potty train numerous animals in the comfort of their own home and I will be happy to help you as well!
